So just who is this Alex Fukui?
Alexander Fukui was born in Ohio and has been in the Minneapolis/Saint Paul metro for most of his life. Growing up with a focus on the arts, he graduated from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design with a D in a painting class that he’s frankly still getting over. He otherwise had solid grades and an arsenal of design skills in digital and traditional media. Ever since, he’s worked on broadening and sharpening his abilities, sometimes taking on part-time work to support himself.
Alex has been cartooning and doing freelance and volunteer graphic design work for over five years, including building websites, creating logos, designing instructional and marketing materials for web and print use, illustrating stories and poems, wielding Adobe Creativesuite, dabbling in writing copy, code and SEO, and producing comics. Some of Alex’s work has been published by the City Pages, Paper Darts, the Trylon Microcinema and in print and web anthologies. He has also done design work for educational materials on queer issues and safe sex, drafted by his brother Elliott.
Still based in Minneapolis with his two cats, Alex has come to arrive at these key goals for his business:
– Do good work for good people!
– Always be up-to-date on techniques and trends in the volatile design industry.
– Never be afraid of a challenge.
