Alex Fukui was born in Ohio in 1988 and grew up in Saint Paul, Minnesota. He has been cartooning since he was two years old.
Alex graduated from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design (2007-2011), with a BFA in Comic Art. Studies included 3 months abroad at the Burren College of Art in Ballyvaughan, Ireland (2010) and a teaching internship with Urban Arts Academy. (2010)
Since graduating, Alex has appeared at numerous independent comic conventions, as a guest and as an artist. He produces mini comics, strips, illustrations, and other content, much of which can be viewed on his portfolio.
His freelance work has varied in range and scope from album art to logo design. Comics, illustrations and reviews by Alex have been published in the City Pages, Paper Darts, and in many print and web anthologies.
